Tai Lopez net worth is a buzzing search term in the marketing world. Known for his youtube video “Here In My Garage”, displaying his new Lamborghini and his 7 new bookshelves.
This video remains the most viewed video on his channel. And the video accounts for the fame Tai Lopez got online.
As at the time of writing, this video has gotten over 70 million views.
Needless to say, this video displayed Tai Lopez’s wealth alongside his love for knowledge. And has also made a lot of people curious about Tai Lopez’s net worth.
So in this post, I will be sharing Tai Lopez’s net worth, his background story, and how he built his wealth.
Let’s get started.
What Is Tai Lopez’s Net Worth in 2022?
Tai Lopez has an estimated net worth of $60 million. Although he hasn’t publicly revealed his net worth, this is a judicious estimate based on the data gotten.
In the podcast, Tai Lopez revealed that his net worth is way more than $50 million. And $50 million will be an understatement in terms of his net worth.
On the webinar, Tai gave an answer to a public question about his monthly earnings.
More on this in the next section.

Tai Lopez Net Worth – Growth Over Time
Absolutely, he didn’t build his wealth overnight, it was overtime. Tai Lopez shared in his video “Here in my Garage” how all he had a few years ago in 1998 was just $47 in his bank account.
He also talked about how he lived on his mother’s couch. However, after finding a mentor, his wealth has grown religiously over time, presently at the $60 million dollar mark.
Here’s a table on how Tai Lopez’s net worth has grown over time.

Tai Lopez Speaks About His Net Worth on Logan Paul’s Podcast
Since the hit video “Here in my Garage”, a lot of people have become curious about his net worth.
On the description of the podcast with Logan Paul, it was written:
He’s worth $50M dollars. But is Tai Lopez a business guru or a business scam?
And there’s an element of truth in that. This interview was done on March 8, 2019. A year plus now.
Besides, in a response Tai gave about his net worth, he said:
Online it says $5 million. I think that was 10 years ago. I always say underestimate your net worth, so let’s just say [my net worth is] $50 million.
While that isn’t a straightforward answer to his net worth, it only cut out some options.
Likewise, on one of his webinars on MentorBox, Tai Lopez gave a response to live comment on his webinar concerning his monthly income.
And here’s Tai Lopez’s answer:
Someone says “Tai only makes $3-5 million a year.” Is that true? People are always trying to figure out how much money. You can multiply that by a big number. $3-5 million would be bad for me. In fact, if I make $3 million in a month I might have a heart attack.“
Just like every other answer, Tai Lopez wouldn’t give a straightforward answer.
However, putting the pieces together, it’s safe to conclude that he has an average net worth of $60 million.
If he earns an average of $5 million dollars per month, then that results in $60 million per year. So that should be a better estimate of his net worth since your net worth is always lower than the amount you earn.
Here’s a link to the interview:
Los Angeles CPA Estimates Tai Lopez Net Worth
In an attempt to get a better estimate of Tai’s net worth, Niall has gone a step further; got an email from someone stating the net worth of Tai Lopez.
Luckily, the sender offered to send a CPA letter upon request.
Later on, he got a CPA letter by Jim Govas, which stated the estimate of $60 million.
So, $60 million USD is more than an educative guess of his worth, rather it’s the closest guess of Tai’s net worth.
Who Is Tai Lopez? Life Story and Wiki
Tai Lopez is an investor, entrepreneur, influencer, and a book addict. He was born Taino Adrian Lopez but is better known as Tai Lopez.
He is an investor and advisor to 20 multi-million dollar businesses. Plus, he’s the founder of Mentor Box, a book shipping club.
Besides, he has been recognized as the #1 social media influencer by Entrepreneur magazine. Tai Lopez has also been consistent in educating people on growing their wealth and also starting a business.
“Here in my Garage” is something that you can easily relate to, even if you haven’t watched any of his videos before.
Obviously, Tai Lopez has little beginnings. He talked about how he had to live on his mother’s couch when he was broke.
Needless to say, there is more to building a $60 million dollar fortune.
Let’s start from the beginning.
Tai Lopez Background
Born on April 11, 1977, Tai Lopez was raised in Long Beach, California by his mother and grandmother.
Throughout his childhood, Tai’s father was in prison. His mother was the breadwinner of the family. It was obvious they struggled financially.
Tai Lopez started his entrepreneurial journey while he was six years old. He helped his mother by selling cherry tomatoes for 25 cents per bag.
That was the start of his hustling lifestyle. He went on to switch from selling cherry tomatoes to selling lemonade with sugar.
Six years old Taino recognized that it was hard selling people cherry tomatoes because there was no demand for the product.
When he started selling lemonade with sugar, Taino made $2.5 for the same time he would spend to sell 25 cents of cherry tomatoes.
Absolutely, that was a great experience for Tai Lopez. He could have stuck to selling cherry tomatoes and continued wasting time to sell 25 cents of tomatoes, but taking the risk was what made selling easier for him.
And as Tai Lopez would always say, the people who take risks the more become more successful.
That was his case.
While he was growing up, he was very inquisitive and was interested in learning more about living a good life.
For Tai Lopez, the “Good Life” is a balance of these four pillars of life; health, wealth, love, and happiness. This was an idea he pursued after reading Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics.
Tai Lopez Search for Mentors
When he was 16 years old, Tai Lopez wrote to his grandfather (who was a scientist) to get some wisdom on how to live the “Good life”.
However, he got the least expected answer from his Grandfather:
Sorry, Tai, I can’t help you. The modern world is too complicated. You will never find all the answers from just one person. If you’re lucky, a handful of people along the way will point the way.
Shortly after, he received a box containing eleven books (including “The Story of Civilization” by Will and Ariel Durant”) with encouragement to start by reading those books.
That was the beginning of Tai Lopez’s love for books. His grandfather fuelled his love for reading books.
Of course, that led to his “one book a day” philosophy that has already become a habit.
With the hope of meeting the people that will lead him to the answers on living the good life, Tai Lopez journeyed to 51 countries.
He traveled to Argentina, Australia, South America, New Zealand, Ireland, and many other countries.
His goal was to read a book and visit the author in person. So, he ended up visiting 51 countries.
He spent two years and a half with the Amish, in a community where there was no electricity.
Obviously, he was literally doing all he can to live a healthy and happy life. Interestingly, he also visited Joel Salatin. He spent two years on his popular sustainable farm in Swoope, Virginia.
He visited many other interesting places living a healthy and happy lifestyle.
However, in Tai Lopez’s words, he forgot about the money.
I forgot about the money. That’s one of the things, and so eventually, I ran out of money.
He had no option than to go back home and stay with his mom. That could’ve been embarrassing, after visiting 51 countries and then coming back empty-handed.
Like I said earlier, he had no option.
I had to do the thing nobody wants to do, I had to call my mom and be like, “Mom, I know I’m an adult, but I don’t have any money. Do you mind if I come to stay at home until I get back on my feet?”
Obviously, his mom also did what any mom would do. Of course, she said yes.
However, the night was self-reflection for him.
So I remember laying there at night, like: “Did I mess up? Did I miss out on the good life? Here I am, I have no college degree. My skills? I could milk a cow with the Amish.” That wasn’t a very marketable skill. I remember I had like $47 in my bank account.
The next few days saw Tai Lopez asking around for help on how to make money. His uncle gave him advice that would then lead him to take smart actions:
You know what, Tai, you need somebody who is going to show you how to make money.
This time around, instead of Tai traveling around, he had only $40 to make do-with. He walked into the kitchen and found the Yellow Pages.
He flipped through the Yellow Pages to the finance section. And there lies his would-be mentor; Mike Stainback who headed a local insurance firm.
Mike had his advertisement on a full-page on Yellow Pages. So. Tai concluded that Mike must know a lot about making money.
The Start of His Million Dollar Empire
Tai Lopez’s journey to building his wealth officially began when he left to meet Mike Stainback. He didn’t even have a suit, he picked a big suit in the closet.
When Tai Lopez got to Mike’s office, he offered to work for him for free while Mike would teach him all he knows about making money.
Sounds like a good deal. Besides, Mike has always wanted to pass on his knowledge to someone for over 20 years.
And there walked an eager man wanting to work for free in order to learn from him.
No doubt, it was a done deal. Tai Lopez got to learn cold calling and how to sell from Mike. He furthered his learning by engaging in self-education.
He learned how to use Google AdWords to generate leads for businesses. At the time, Google Adwords was pretty much new technology but contributed greatly to building Tai’s wealth.
Upon noticing Tai’s closing skills, Mike linked him up with the regional head of GE Capital, where he became a certified financial planner.
Shortly after, he ended up becoming one of the top salespeople at GE Capital.
He worked at GE Capital for two years and a month. That was between November 2001 to November 2003.
However, Tai Lopez has since then started various businesses that have contributed to his $60 million dollar valuation.
How Tai Lopez Makes Money Online
After working with GE capital for two years, Tai Lopez has created several companies and income sources for himself to a lot of make money online.
Below is a detailed breakdown of how Tai Lopez makes money:
1. Dating Websites
Speaking of what led to Tai’s initial wealth, it can be linked to his fleet of dating sites.
Tai ran some dating sites that were active from 2010 to 2015. A lot of the sites are now down. And some have become spam sites, so they’re basically inactive.
During the period of running the dating sites, a lot of people have reportedly been scammed on his dating sites especially, Elite Global Dating like this:
This just remains an accusation that has not been verified.
But something looks shady about his dating sites.
Although Tai Lopez is known to have run a fleet of dating sites, it was not stated on his previous projects and work experience on LinkedIn.
Likewise, his experience in running a fleet of dating sites was not also listed on his personal site.
Needless to say, it was hard fishing out his fleet of dating sites since there was no official record of the sites on Tai Lopez’s personal site and portfolio.
But, here are some of the dating sites that can be traced back to Tai Lopez:
According to Zoominfo.com, Tai Lopez dating sites are estimated to have made a revenue worth $2.5 million when they existed.
And to be candid, that’s a good push for a start. As at the time of writing, Tai Lopez doesn’t make money from any of these dating sites.
Besides, they are inactive and now spam sites. He now makes most of his money from running online courses.
2. Online Courses
Here’s what Tai Lopez teaches, knowledge. If you’re a fan of Tai, then you should know how much he cherishes knowledge above wealth.
He has a host of online courses where he teaches people how to build wealth and live a good life.
His first course was what he advertised on “Here in my Garage” video. No doubt, his first course’ The 67 Steps, generated millions.
Aside from that course, he has a bunch of online courses.
- 12 Foundations
- 3 Day Money Mentor
- 5 Minute Mentor
- Accelerator Program
- Amazon Sales Blueprint
- Bitcoin Crypto Mastermind
- BNB Formula
- Cashflow System
- Credit Mentor
- Digital Social Marketing Consulting (DSMC)
- E-Commerce Blueprint
- Ecomm Agency
- Home Sharing Management Company (HSMC)
- How Tai Makes Money Online
- How To Invest
- Knowledge Society
- Mentor Program
- Mini MBA Academy
- Real Estate Mentor
- Real Estate Wholesale
- Sales Mastery Black Belt
- Social Media Growth
- Social Media Marketing Agency (SMMA)
- Website Funnel Building Agency
Obviously, teaching all of these courses himself isn’t going to be fun at all. Besides, he isn’t a subject expert of all the courses he hosts.
But what he has always done is to look for a subject expert on the course, collaborate, and then launch the course.
Unlike The 67 Steps which was taught solely by Tai Lopez, most of his other courses are taught by industry experts. For example, his SMMA course has about 34 digital marketing experts teaching the course.
In essence, Tai Lopez delivers more courses every year by partnering with other subject experts in order to provide value to his students.
As far as we know, Tai makes the majority of his wealth from online courses. As estimated, he makes about $30 million per year from his online course.
3. Mentor Box
Mentor Box is an extension of what has become a habit to Tai Lopez; reading. He co-founded Mentor Box with Alex Mehr.
When talking about what led to his success, Tai Lopez cannot but mention the mentors that have helped in cultivating the good life.
Through Mentor Box, he and his partner plan to help others develop their wealth-building skills by reading.
The company works on a subscription model, customers pay a monthly fee and are sent a new book every month.
Alongside the book, customers also get audiobook lessons and nuggets, video workshops, member discussions, and booklets.
As far as we know, Tai Lopez owns 50% of the company, as revealed by Tai Lopez on one of his Livestream YouTube videos in 2017.
Then, he also claimed that the company was already at the $50,000 a day mark. If that claim is true, then that means the company was making $1.5 million monthly in 2017.
Presently, there’s no hint on what the company is presently worth or makes. However, it’s certain he earns a few million per year from the business.
So, MentorBox is certainly one of his active money makers.
4. Affiliate Marketing
This is one of the ways Tai monetizes his youtube account. He has over a million followers and that’s a good audience to monetize.
Through his book reviews and recommendations on his YouTube videos, Tai Lopez places some amazon affiliate links in the description of his videos.
Compared to other means he makes his money, this isn’t a big hit or a million-dollar business for him. Besides, Amazon offers a low commission rate for books; 4% for digital books, and 4.5% for physical books.
However, he does recommend other tools and products on his YouTube channel, which he also uses affiliate links.
No doubt, this is also a small commission compared to what he earns from his online courses and other businesses.
However, this can make a modest add-up to his money-making portfolios.
5. YouTube ads
Aside from affiliate marketing, the traditional way of monetizing your YouTube videos is via YouTube ads.
YouTube would automatically place ads on your videos for your audience to see before watching the video.
This can be a nice add up to his net worth. According to a YouTube revenue calculator, it gives an estimate of $651, 000, as the total amount Tai Lopez has earned so far from YouTube ads.
That’s just an estimate, it could be less than that or even more than that.
But in the end, it’s a nice income stream for Tai Lopez.
6. Podcast Sponsors
“The Tai Lopez Show” is a podcast that Tai started in 2014. And ever since, he has consistently pumped out hundreds of episodes every year.
On his podcast, Tai reviews the best books in health, wealth, and business. He has consistently recommended different brands on his podcast as sponsors.
Below are some of the brands that have been mentioned on his podcast:
Aside from podcast sponsors, Tai Lopez also promotes some products on an affiliate basis where he gets a commission for each signup.
To give a certain figure on how much he makes from his podcast is difficult because it depends on the negotiation and deal.
There’s no constant figure to the amount his sponsors pay to have their ads in between the episodes.
However, based on some calculations, the best guess is that Tai Lopez makes between $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
7. Coaching and Consulting
Tai Lopez offers consulting services to business owners and entrepreneurs willing to grow their revenues.
His sales page on his consulting website shows that he charges $9750 per month to coach businesses.
However, his sales page looks old fashioned and outdated, which could also mean that the page isn’t of much use again to him.
Also, looking at the blog section of the site, it was last updated on January 25, 2018. And that’s two years ago, which is a pointer that the information on the page might not be valid.
Besides, it was hard locating a link pointing to a consulting page, which could mean he does little or no consulting again.
Instead, his online courses have been his focus. And the closest I found is his Accelerator program that costs $997.
On his Accelerator program sales page, Tai claims that he charges $10,000 per hour or $1,000,000 per year for his consulting services.
Obviously, that is different from what was displayed on his old fashioned consulting sales page. And that means his consulting sales page is of no use again as said earlier on.
However, for his high-priced consulting service, there’s no detail or page showing his service and his clients (if any).
8. Sleep Glasses
Lastly, Tai Lopez has an eCommerce store where he sells sleep glasses. He sells his inventories through Amazon.
This business is a partnership with James Swanwick of Swanwick Sleep.
On one of his podcast episodes, Tai Lopez disclosed that Swanwick Sleep was on the path of making $2 million per year.
That was 2017. No recent data to back how much the business makes presently. Also, the $2 million is the revenue and there’s no data to know the profit made.
As it is a partnership, the profit will still be divided. In essence, this makes a little add up to his net worth.

Is Tai Lopez a Scam?
No doubt, this is a trending search on Google and web forums. There are a lot of people claiming that Tai Lopez is a scam.
Make a search on Google and you’ll find a lot of posts and videos with a similar headline.
While there are a lot of people calling him a scam, I don’t have a good reason for that. For his online courses, they are valuable enough to implement.
You don’t need to take my word for it, Tai Lopez has a lot of free content on his youtube channel, personal website, and other social media channels.
Instead of subscribing to any of his paid courses or programs, digesting some of his free content and implementing them is a healthy way to see if he’s a scam or not.
If his teaching method or tips doesn’t go down well with you, then there’s no point in joining a paid program. If it goes down well, then you have your answer to this question.
Tai Lopez Companies
Going by his LinkedIn profile and other sources, Tai Lopez has founded and also co-founded these companies; Mentor Box, Sleep glasses store, Tai Lopez Capital group, Grassfed brands, and LLG Financial Inc.

Besides that, Tai Lopez claims to be an investor and advisor to 20 million-dollar companies.
But the problem here’s that the names of the companies are not revealed. So, giving the exact names of the companies that Tai has invested in is difficult.
