What Is GrooveSell?

GrooveSell Review - Groovesell
  • Save

GrooveSell is an easy-to-use digital sales platform that enables you to create, host, promote, and take payments for your digital products and services.

With this software, you can create checkout pages that engage the customers and grow your conversions.

You can also increase your profits by creating relevant and compelling Upsells, Downsells, and Order bumps.

So you can see that GrooveSell offers more benefit to online marketers than merely taking payments.

If you’re a digital marketer, an eCommerce entrepreneur, an online creator, or you have a digital product to sell, then GrooveSell is exactly what you need.

Mike Filsaime, CEO of Groove Digital and the brain behind GrooveSell is a digital marketer himself.

So you can be sure you’re getting the best solution that will meet your sales and eCommerce needs.

Who Created GrooveSell?

GrooveSell was founded by Mike Filsaime, the CEO of Groove Digital.

GrooveSell is one of the core apps you’ll find inside of the GrooveFunnels digital marketing platform. This software application was developed to help online marketers sell products and manage affiliate programs effectively.

Who Is GrooveSell For?

GrooveSell is certainly not for everyone. However, it’s highly recommended for selling online courses, coaching, eBooks, memberships, training, PDFs, and other forms of digital products.

It’s recommended for:

  • Coaches
  • Speakers
  • Graphic designers
  • Software developers
  • content creators
  • Authors
  • Affiliate marketers
  • Influencer
  • Freelancer

The list goes on. Just know that if you have a product or service that can be sold on platforms like Teachable, Thinkific, Udemy, Fiverr, Upwork, ClickBank, JVZoo, then you know GrooveSell was created with you in mind.

And there’s no transaction fee, whatsoever when you sell with GrooveSell. Isn’t that amazing?

Why Is GrooveSell Free?

“If GrooveSell is such a powerful and essential all-in-one sales platform, why is it free?”, you ask?

Well, you’re right. However, Groove Digital was founded with a goal of making marketers’ lives better.

At this time, the company understands the pain and struggles that small businesses and entrepreneurs are facing as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. It has swept most businesses off.

That’s why GrooveSell is completely FREE for a limited time. The goal is to offer a helping hand to businesses and marketers who have limited budgets to invest.

As they’re already paying for email marketing services, web hosting, shopping carts, and so on, Mike Filsaime thought it’d be weird to charge for GrooveSell.

It’s about “Giving Back to the Business Community.”

If you can save money during these unprecedented times, then you have a greater chance of making more sales online.

Remember that GrooveSell is still in Beta but you can start using the sales and affiliate management system right away — as they’re fully functional.

By the end of July, every feature will be rolled out completely.

GrooveSell Review: Key Features & An In-Depth Look Inside

This GrooveSell review will not be complete until we share what’s inside the dashboard, and how best you can use the features.

So let’s discuss the key features of GrooveSell.

Once you log in to GrooveSell, you’ll see two separate dashboards:

  • Vendor dashboard
  • Affiliate dashboard

By default, GrooveSell assumes you’re a vendor, so that’s the first dashboard you’ll see:

For the purpose of this review and to stay relevant, let’s cover the core features you’ll find in the vendor dashboard.

1. Product Funnels & Payment Options

To begin selling products in GrooveSell, the first step is to create a ‘Product Funnel’.

This is different from a ‘product.’ How?

A product funnel is basically a sales funnel.

Each sales funnel can offer 1, 2, or 3+ products.

As an example, you may have these three products in your product funnel:

  1. Main product
  2. Order bump product
  3. Upsell product

This means you’re offering 3 products in your ‘product funnel’.

You’ll find the Product Funnels in the Funnels tab at the left panel.

This is also the area where you’ll configure your product’s pricing, settings, and details.

You can use the product setup wizard. It’ll guide you through the 11 steps for creating a sales funnel.

There’s a step by step order required for building your sales funnels. That’s what the Product Setup Wizard helps you actualize. No guesswork involved here.

Here are the product features and what they mean:

i). Flexible Pricing: Set up your free trials, one-time price, recurring, installment payments, and recurring installment payment options.

ii). Order Bumps: This is a priceless feature. Use it to set up one-click upsells, downsells, and order bumps.

iii). Custom Checkout: Use this to build custom shopping carts, easy-to-embed checkout forms, coupons, and add some widgets.

2. Affiliate Portal & Tools

Where you manage your affiliate program matters. You could be leaving a lot of money on the table if your affiliates struggle to find track their marketing efforts more efficiently.

Hence, you need a good Affiliate portal with all of the tools. Are you currently using ClickBank or JVZoo to manage your affiliate program, then you know how much it costs monthly + transaction fees.

GrooveSell will kick start your online business and sales.

Find the Affiliate Portal & Tools with the Funnels tab in the left panel. Here, you can easily add promotional assets for your affiliates to use on their websites, social media pages, etc.

Start by clicking on the “+Create New Funnel Promo Tools” button and this screen will appear.

Next, add all of the promotional assets for your product(s) to make it easier for affiliates to promote.

  • Ad copy swipes
  • Video reviews
  • Content upgrades
  • Website banners
  • Sample products reviews
  • Ad copy and creatives for Instagram
  • Facebook ad copy
  • Signature copy, etc.

It makes sense to provide your affiliates with a variety of promotional tools. That way, they can sell more of your products, drive more traffic to your website, and help grow your brand.

This Affiliate Portal & Tools that’s available on the GrooveSell dashboard will save you a ton of money.

For example, if you were to use “Backpack,” the affiliate software in ClickFunnels, you’ll need to upgrade your membership to $297/month.

That’s no small money when you haven’t scaled your affiliate program. More so, Kartra also charges $99/month if you want to be able to create and manage affiliates.

GrooveSell is 100% free for LIFE!

3. Reporting

Right inside the ‘Reporting’ and “Transactions” tab, you can track sales transaction information for your products.

You can view information such as:

  • Customer name
  • The products they purchase
  • Successful transactions
  • Failed transactions
  • The price they purchased at

…And more.

You should use the search bar to filter information, dates, and export your customer list in a CSV file.

And you know what’s cool about this feature?

It’s easy to upload your customer list on Facebook Ad portal and create LookAlike audiences so that you can target even more customers.

4. Affiliates

In the ‘Affiliate’ section, you’ll see additional information about your affiliates, traffic stats, and payment history.

Product creators can quickly view:

  • Affiliate name
  • The number of clicks
  • Pending commissions
  • Which product or funnel they are promoting
  • The number of impressions
  • Earned commissions
  • Payment history

This feature helps you pinpoint the specific affiliates that are generating the most traffic to your product page, so that you can email them with tricks, techniques, and tools to convert that traffic into sales.

5. Customers

Another essential feature of GrooveSell is ‘Customers.’ It’s not fully rolled out yet, but we can see it in the left panel.

GrooveSell Pros & Cons

There’s a lot of good things to say about GrooveSell. But let’s be fair and try to point out the pros and cons in this section.

  • It’s completely free.
  • It’s easy to use.
  • There’s no transaction fee
  • Clickfunnels.

  • After the COVID-19 crisis, the GrooveSell free deal may no longer exist.
  • Although GrooveSell is free, the ultimate goal is to get you to upgrade your GrooveFunnels membership at some point.
  • ThriveCart is still more powerful than GrooveSell as it is right now. But the future looks very promising — seeing all that Groove Digital is rolling out.

GrooveSell Alternatives

Let’s consider GrooveSell alternatives and compare them on the basis of pricing.

Bear in mind though that if you need a more robust online sales and affiliate platform, ThriveCart is more flexible.

But it’ll cost you some money.

When you compare GrooveSell to other shopping cart software and affiliate management systems, you’ll see how much you’re saving with GrooveSell.

See what the major players are charging customers:

ThriveCart Pricing

  • One-time $495.00 payment

SamCart Pricing

  • The Launch plan costs $49.00/Month

PayKickstart Pricing

  • The Starter plan begins at $99.00/Month

ClickFunnels Pricing

  • The Standard plan costs $97/Month

Kartra Pricing

  • The Starter plan costs $99/Month

ClickBank Pricing

  • Activation fee costs $49.95 (one-time)
  • $1 + 7.5% transaction fee for each sale
  • $2.50 fee each time you want to withdraw your money

JVZoo Pricing

  • 5% commission on all sales
  • + 2.5% for sales generated via webinars

How To Make Money With GrooveSell

In this section, you’ll discover some of the best ways to make money with GrooveSell

This sales and affiliate platform offers tremendous opportunities for generating additional income to support you and your family.

If you don’t have a product and need some ideas on the type of product to create and sell, I wrote this section to help you.

Selling your own digital products is awesome. Unlike affiliate products where you earn 20, 30, 40, or 50+ commission each every successful sale, you get to keep 100% of your product sales.

More importantly, you can get other affiliates (bloggers, online influencers, content creators, marketers) to join your affiliate program and refer customers to you for a 40+ commission rate.

Let’s get started with 6 product ideas that don’t require advanced skills to create and sell using GrooveSell.

1. Email Course

Email marketing has remained one of the best strategies for growing online businesses. For every $1 businesses invest in this channel, they get $40 in ROI, according to this study.

If you already have an email list or building one, what exactly are you sending them?

Sometimes, your subscribers need something unique and actionable. Sending your latest posts is good, but you can do better if you create a paid email course.

A good example of an email course that you can sell on GrooveSell might be:

  • 30 Day On-Page SEO Techniques to Increase Organic Rankings
  • How to Get Your First 5 Freelance Clients in 30 Days

Better yet, create an email course that will teach your subscribers how to use a popular tool in the industry. Here are some examples:

  • The Practical Guide to Using Adobe Premiere to Edit Videos
  • How to Master Asana: A Video Course

Just go down this path and you’ll find a good idea for a paid email course. You’ll schedule an email (lesson) to go out to your students for 20 – 30 days.

Each day will go into detail about the course.

For the purpose of this GrooveSell review, let’s use “How to Get Your First 5 Clients in 30 Days” email course.

Here’s a good outline to follow:

  • Day 1 email – What type of Client Do You Need?
  • Day 2 email – Client-Onboarding Framework
  • Day 3 email – Where to Find Potential Clients
  • Day 4 email – Client-Getting Formulas
  • Day 5 email – 5 Things to Say to a Potential Client

You can create your email course quickly. All you need is an email autoresponder service like ConverKit or MailChimp to deliver the lessons.

Soon, GrooveMail will be rolled out as well. It’ll handle your email marketing needs — just like ActiveCampaign, but better.

2. eBook or PDF Reports

Don’t underestimate yourself. Your knowledge and expertise is worth at least $19.

And there are people who would gladly pay to leverage on your expertise.

You can write a simple but actionable eBook or PDF report and sell on GrooveSell. It doesn’t have to be technical or some hidden information, it could be on a topic your audience cares about.

Just make sure you approach it in a unique way.

Videos are great but not everyone has the time to watch a 2-hour video course. Funny enough, some people prefer reading to watching a video.

  • Here are some juicy eBook ideas you can create:
  • How to Grow Mushroom In Your Backyard
  • The Blueprint to Starting a Software Company
  • How to Attract Investors Who Will Love Your Business Idea

Note: A PDF report or an eBook doesn’t have to be a novel (it shouldn’t). It can be 20 – 50 pages of rich and actionable information. Make it valuable and your audience will appreciate you for that.

3. Workbooks & Worksheets

Online creators love workbooks. Since they always want to get a job done, they want to be able to do it quickly.

A Workbook plus a printable sheet they can use can be as simple as 2 pages or 30 pages.

You could even offer it as an upsell to your online course, an email course, or just sell it as a standalone digital product.

Some ideas you might try:

  • A Workbook for Choosing a Business Partner
  • A printable 10-page idea generation workbook with tips on how to fill each section.
  • A bi-weekly blogging spreadsheet to help increase your blog readership in 6 months.

Note: If creating a Workbook sounds scary, why not create a checklist. I’m sure you’re using one already. This is an information product that you can sell on GrooveSell to make additional income.

4. Design Templates & Icon Packs

Businesses are always looking for nice graphics, templates, and icon packs. Yes, they use it for social media campaigns — free and paid.

If you’re really good at it, you can make money from packaging templates that will speed up work for small businesses and social media marketers.

Here are some ideas:

  • 30 Pre-designed Pinterest Graphics That’s Resized (Just Change Text and Start Pinning).
  • 100+ Icon Packs for Your Web and Social Media Custom Image Designs

This type of digital product can be sold on GrooveSell. Non graphic designers will gladly take advantage of templates so they can get ahead faster.

4. Blog Post & Sales Copy Templates

This is a digital product idea I’m fascinated about. As a blogger myself, I know that sometimes, we struggle with coming up with formats for a post or the right approach to a new sales copy.

Content templates can save the day.

Here’s a good example of blog post template from CoSchedule:

When people download your blog post or sales copy template, they can easily fill in the blanks and off they go.

Or they can paste the template into the WordPress Gutenberg, then fill out the blanks with their blanks, hit publish, and they’re live.

Some content templates that will do well include:

  • Product reviews templates
  • Sales letter templates
  • Video promo scripts
  • List-post templates
  • Press release templates

If your customers struggle with engaging content (73% of customers do), then a done-for-you content template will help save your customers time.

5. Virtual Workshops

As a result of the current social-economic disorder in the society, virtual conferences are growing in demand.

Social distancing, for one, has ushered in a new way of running workshops. Months ago, it used to be face to face (in-person). But today, a virtual workshop is the way to go.

And you can sell virtual workshops on GrooveSell to make extra money. It’s a great way to supplement your income.

You can teach a skill, share vital information, or engage with your audience virtually, with an accompanying workbook. A 30 – 1 hour workshop is fine. It doesn’t have to take forever.

A virtual workshop is similar to a paid webinar. You can sell the live workshop or recorded presentation via GrooveSell!

Here are some virtual workshop ideas you can sell:

  • Writing classes
  • Voice coaching workshop
  • Social media workshop
  • Meditation classes
  • Public speaking workshop
  • Weight Lifting workshop

To be very effective with your virtual workshop, you can manage everything with Zoom. Then email students your zoom link. They simply have to click it to join.

6. WordPress Tutorials

A lot of beginners to blogging still struggle to find their ways around WordPress. Although the platform is easy to use, it requires a learning curve for some people.

If you’re a WordPress expert and know how to navigate around this powerful CMS, then you’re sitting on a viable paid product idea.

You can create an ‘over the shoulder’ training video to show how to customize WordPress, add custom CSS, improve page speed, etc. Yes, you can sell it effectively using GrooveSell

Make your tutorial videos simple. Remember you’re mostly likely going to be talking to non-technical people. So use a step-by-step instruction guide. People will love it, I’m sure.

Better yet, design a sales page, add a checkout page, and thank you page on GroovePages for free.

Remember that GroovePages also comes with your GrooveSell account. The former tool helps you to create landing pages and funnels.
